Delay??
Just when everything was really getting going with getting the boat upgrades wrapped up, I finally got in to the orthopedist to get my lingering hip pain checked out. It turns out I’ve had a stress fracture for a while. Treatment: 6-8 weeks in crutches. I’m still reeling from it and we are trying to fully understand what this means for our departure. In the best case (the six week end of the scale), I’ll be ambulating in mid-July. At that point we’ll still have to do lots of moving onto the boat, prepping the house, etc.
It sucks. It could suck worse, it could suck less, I guess it sucks just about right. Our August 1st departure is more like a September 1st departure, or so we hope.
